You won’t have to wait for real football games to see new Lions jerseys.

The Lions are planning to debut their new road uniform, “The 313,” on Thursday night in the team’s preseason opener vs. the New York Giants.

The game kicks off at 8 p.m. -- we aren’t expecting to see many starters hit the field for the Lions.

The franchise announced the new jerseys back in April, just in time for the NFL Draft in Detroit.

The uniforms pay special tribute to the late owner, William Clay Ford. Previously, the uniforms had the WCF patch on the sleeves.

With the sleeves getting shorter and the pads getting more extensive, the team will honor Ford with a permanent WCF decal on the back left-hand side of the helmet.

On the inside of the game-worn jerseys will be the signature of Ford, and it will be placed with the bottom of only the game-worn jerseys.
