EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Dan Campbell provided updates on seven injured Detroit Lions players after their first preseason game against the New York Giants.

QB Hendon Hooker

Following a strong drive with both his arm and his legs, quarterback Hendon Hooker was shown heading to the Lions’ locker room, and he didn’t return.

“Yeah, he got a concussion,” Campbell said. “He’s obviously in the protocol and he’ll be evaluated. I don’t know how long it’s going to be. I know he got his bell rung.”

Campbell said the injury happened on one of Hooker’s four runs.

“Obviously, we would have loved to have gotten more time with him, but that’s one of those things that happens,” Campbell said.

WR Antoine Green

Second-year wideout Antoine Green also has a concussion.

“Kind of a neck concussion,” Campbell said. “I think he and Hooker are kind of in the same boat. Not sure how long this will be.”

EDGE James Houston

Campbell said edge rusher James Houston’s knee is bothering him.

“Houston is dealing with kind of the same knee that’s bothering him, kind of got a bone bruise in there, so that shouldn’t be a long-term thing,” Campbell said.

DL Nate Lynn

Undrafted rookie defensive lineman Nate Lynn, who had a sack in the game, is dealing with a shoulder injury, but it doesn’t seem like Campbell considers it to be serious.

CB Morice Norris

Campbell said undrafted rookie cornerback Morice Norris has a minor hamstring injury.

DL David Bada

Defensive lineman David Bada left the game with an achilles injury. Campbell said this could be a long-term injury.

OL Connor Galvin

Offensive lineman Connor Galvin was carted off the field after a player rolled up on his leg.

Campbell said Galvin has a knee injury that “could be significant.”

Final thought from Campbell

Here’s how Campbell summed up the Lions’ injury situation:

“Really, I think it’s Green and Hooker -- not sure how long, and then, like I said, Bada and Galvin, I think, could be long-term.”
