It’ll be off to the races for the Pistons out of the gate, with six games against previous season playoff teams, including Oct. 26 vs. the defending champion Boston Celtics at LCA.
Returning this season is the second annual NBA In-Season Tournament, now named the Emirates NBA Cup. Each team will play four Group Play games (two home, two road), which will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from Nov. 12 - Dec. 3.
In Group Play, the Pistons will host the Miami HEAT on Nov. 12 and the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 3 inside Little Caesars Arena. Eight teams will advance out of Group Play to the Knockout Rounds, which will consist of single-elimination games in the Quarterfinals (played in NBA team markets on Tuesday, Dec. 10 and Wednesday, Dec. 11), Semifinals and Championship (played in Las Vegas on Dec. 14 and Dec. 17, respectively).
The Pistons are scheduled to be on national television three times during the regular season. ESPN will broadcast the team’s home contest against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. NBA TV will broadcast a home game against the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and road matchup against the Utah Jazz on March 3 at 9:30 p.m. A complete radio and local television broadcast schedule for Pistons games will be released at a later date.
