DETROIT – I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but we don’t cover the Detroit Lions like everybody else.
I mean, yeah, we go to the games. We interview players. Hobie even plays the occasional game of catch with Jahmyr Gibbs. But we also aren’t afraid to admit that we’re fans of the team.
Ben Bell basically sings “Forward Down the Field” every Monday afternoon on Detroit Sports+. Ken Haddad wears a Lions shirt half the time. We even did that thing where we photoshopped all of our anchors and reporters with Honolulu Blue eyes.
It’s hard to hide your excitement now that the Lions are good, because we’ve all been through the decades of misery.
So what better time than now to hear stories from other fans?
Maybe you’ve had season tickets for 30 years and it’s finally paying off? Or you know a grandfather and granddaughter who love to watch the games together. Or maybe you’re a parent raising a little one to be a Lions fan.
