DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers are returning to Comerica Park this week with a very real chance to make the playoffs, and they’re celebrating with a ton of promotions.

Here’s what to know.

Tigers playoff picture

First and foremost: The best gift the Tigers are offering fans this week is a legitimate playoff race.

The Tigers officially moved into a playoff spot on Sunday for the first time since early in the season.

They’re currently tied with the Kansas City Royals for the second wild card spot and one game ahead of the Minnesota Twins.

As long as the Tigers finish as one of the top three wild card finishers, they’ll make the postseason. They don’t own the tiebreaker against either the Royals or Twins.

No fees for rest of regular season ticket purchases

The Tigers said tickets to the final six regular-season games will have “no fees.”

The Tigers host the Tampa Bay Rays for three games from Tuesday to Thursday and then the Chicago White Sox for three games from Friday to Sunday to finish up the regular season.
