After win, Detroit Lions troll Cardinals for what they did (well, didn’t do) 3 years ago

Lions remember Cardinals took 4 days to post final score in 2021

DETROIT – After their win over the Cardinals on Sunday, the Detroit Lions trolled their opponent for something they failed to do three years ago.

The Lions weren’t a very good team back in 2021. They began the season 0-10-1 and ultimately finished with just three wins.

But one of those wins came in Week 15 against an Arizona team that went into the matchup with a 10-3 record.

The Lions pummeled the Cardinals, jumping out to a 17-0 lead at halftime and eventually winning 30-12.

The Cardinals were so ashamed that they refused to post the final score on Twitter. For three full days they got torched on social media, until peer pressure finally won out on Christmas Day.

The team posted a video of its mascot in front of a Christmas tree, with “Silent Night” playing in the background. “Big Red” holds up flip cards that say since it’s Christmas time, they have to tell the truth.

Detroit’s fortunes have turned for the better in the three years since that meeting, while the Cardinals have gone in the other direction.

But the Lions clearly haven’t forgotten. After they beat the Cardinals 20-13 on Sunday, the social media team fired off a tweet that said, “Decided to post the final score graphic.”

The Lions have a pretty funny social media team, and they obviously keep receipts. But the Cardinals made this one a little too easy. Always, always post the final score.
