Although the jerseys had already been leaked on social media, the team officially revealed their new threads to the public on April 18 during a special unveiling in front of season ticket holders, paying homage to their past, present, and future success.
Three new uniforms were introduced, and all fans were talking about the return of the Calvin Johnson black jersey’s he and the team wore at the start of his hall-of-fame career.
The Honolulu Blue and its rich texture pop off the uniform, making Megatron want to petition the NFL to make them their permanent home uniforms.
During the unveiling, Johnson said he was starting a petition so the Lions could wear black uniforms every home game during the 2024 season.
As seen in the pictures posted to X, the team will wear the jersey alongside black pants and a Honolulu Blue helmet—the helmet sports black Lions on both sides and horsepower stripes down the middle.
Catch the 2-1 Lions on Monday, Sept. 30, as they play host to the Seahawks at 8:15 p.m.
