DETROIT – The official social media account for the city of Detroit destroyed Amon-Ra St. Brown’s brother for his comments about the city.
It happens all the time: Someone decides to criticize Detroit without realizing what they’re getting into.
This time, it was Amon-Ra St. Brown’s older brother, Equanimeous, who has fewer total yards in the past four years than his brother’s worst single season.
“Detroit -- no one’s going there, I promise you," Equanimeous St. Brown said on their podcast. “I think it’s a Delta hub, as you say, it’s like a layover destination. That’s what I think it is.
“I think a lot of people outside Detroit would agree with me. Like, if they could choose to live anywhere in the world or the country, they would not choose Detroit. I hate to say it.
“If they could choose to live in Florida or California -- come on, bro.”
He went on to say that he heard from one of Amon-Ra’s teammates that Detroit is always “cloudy, gray, and depressing.”
The city of Detroit’s X account went back and forth with the elder St. Brown brother a few times, saying that he doesn’t have to take it out on Detroit just because he’s living in his brother’s shadow and pointing out that Detroit is currently 26th in U.S. population.
“Hopefully next year you’ll crack top 25,“ Equanimeous responded sarcastically.
“Hopefully next year you don’t have to move to another city," Detroit’s account replied.
DANG. This could be a new low for Equanimeous. He just got buried by an intern who’s tied with him in receiving yards this season.
If you don’t get it, the tweet was a reference to Equanimeous already being on his third NFL team in just five seasons -- Green Bay, Chicago, and New Orleans.
By the way, he’s 2-5 in his career against the Lions.
It’s been about 30 hours without a response, so it looks like Detroit’s social media intern delivered the knockout punch.
Sorry, Amon-Ra, but you’ve been here long enough to know what was coming for your brother when he picked this fight.
Hopefully next year you don’t have to move to another city 🙏🏾 https://t.co/38ANESTZ6I
