With the newly signed deal, McNeill is the third player in the Lions' 2021 draft class to sign an extension with the 4-1 franchise following an offensive tackle and sometimes running back and wide receiver Penei Sewell and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
McNeill was drafted in the third round of 2021 and was in the final year of his rookie deal.
He has made his presence felt by becoming a beast on the defensive line and a cornerstone for the franchise.
The 6′2″, 315-pound defensive tackle out of North Carolina State started in 41 of 52 games, accumulating 120 tackles, 54 of which were solos, 10.5 sacks, 24 quarterback hits, and one forced fumble for the Lions thus far.
In 2024, he played 63% of defensive snaps through five games. He collected eight tackles, five solos, 2.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, and one pass deflection.
