DETROIT – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie blasted Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell while whining about the blowout win over the Cowboys.

Christie is a huge Cowboys fan and went on the “Mag Dog” podcast with Chris Rousso to talk about their 47-9 loss to the Lions.

“That‘s Dan Campbell,” Christie said. “He‘s got no class. Never has, so it’s fine.”

Aside from being seemingly the first person with anything bad to say about Campbell since he became the head coach of the Lions, it doesn’t feel like Christie has much of a leg to stand on.

Were the Lions running up the score? Yes. Were they trying to prove a point by completing a pass to an offensive lineman? You betcha.

But I‘d love to hear clips of Christie’s outrage when the Cowboys beat the Giants 40-0 last season. Or the Patriots 38-3. Or the Commanders 45-10. That Mike McCarthy guy: no class, I tell ya.

The Lions went into Dallas to avenge last season’s controversial loss, when they felt like they had won on a last-second two-point conversion pass to Taylor Decker.

We all know how that ended. And if anyone thought Campbell and his team weren‘t going to have a response to it, they haven’t been paying attention.

Anyways, here are more of Christie’s comments on the “Mad Dog” podcast:

“That‘s the way he is, and what goes around comes around,” Christie said. “Dan Campbell’s angry because the referees got a call wrong in the game a year ago. Well, then, run that play on Roger Goodell. The Cowboys had nothing to do with the play being called incorrectly.”

He went on to say that the Lions were “rubbing it in” and “that’s not what pros do.”

"It’s the reputation that he’ll carry around," Christie said. “Quite frankly, I see most people think that’s his rep now anyway.”

Yeah, if Christie thinks the league’s view of Campbell is negative, he might be getting the wrong read.

I understand a fan being frustrated that the Cowboys looked so bad -- Detroiters have certainly been through their fair share of that -- but it‘s not the Lions’ job to keep the Cowboys close. It‘s the Cowboys’.

That’s actually “what pros do.” I promise nobody feels bad for the Cowboys.
