The 23-year-old speedster is second on the team in receiving yards with 361 and touchdowns with three as the rollercoaster career of the former Alabama Crimson Tide continues with a new twist.
Williams was drafted by the Lions in 2022 as the No. 12 pick, but he missed his first 11 games due to an ACL injury he sustained in college.
He followed that up by serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy during his sophomore season.
The Lions are coming off a thrilling 31-29 victory over NFC North rivals the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday (Oct. 20), where Willilams caught one pass for negative four yards.
Although they are 5-1 and lead not only their division but are sitting atop the whole conference, Williams’ presence ahead of their week eight home matchup against the Tennessee Titans will be missed as he is their field stretcher.
