DETROIT – “Is Jameson Williams running out of chances?” That’s one of the questions Dan Campbell was asked about the traffic stop involving his wide receiver.

The Detroit Lions' head coach spoke Wednesday ahead of this weekend’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers. But the first two questions centered around an Oct. 8 traffic stop, during which Williams and another person were pulled over in a car that contained guns.

Campbell said he’s known about what happened, because Williams let the team know.

“I don‘t have anything further than last week,” Campbell said. “I‘ve know about all this. I know we put out a statement. The kid‘s been truthful with us, and we’re good.”

He was then asked whether Williams is running out of chances, referring to the 2023 suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy and his current suspension for a PED violation.

“I know that it certainly doesn‘t look good,” Campbell said. “I get that. But at the same token, it kind of all came on here at the same time, and it‘s really decision-making for him, and that‘s where he knows he can be better. Don‘t put yourself in those situations. He‘s going to learn from this, grow from it. We‘ve talked about it, and I still think there’s a ton of growth out of this player.”
