INDIANAPOLIS – The Detroit Lions dominated the Indianapolis Colts for their ninth-straight victory.
Sunday was the fourth time in five weeks that the Lions completely outclassed their opponent. The Colts carried a 3-0 lead into the second quarter, but it wall Lions from there.
Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery each scored a touchdown in the second, sandwiched around a second Indianapolis field goal.
Gibbs scored again just before the end of the third to put the game well out of reach.
Jake Bates added a 56-yard field goal in the fourth to put the Lions up 24-6, which was the final score.
Jared Goff had another efficient outing, completing 26 of 36 passes for 269 yards. Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown combined for 11 catches and 126 yards.
Gibbs led the way on the ground, racking up 90 yards and two scores on 21 carries. Montgomery had 37 yards on eight carries before leaving the field with an injury.
The defense was the story, though, holding the Colts to 268 total yards and 11 first downs. Jack Campbell lead the team with nine tackles and two passes defended.
With the win, the Lions improved to 10-1 and still have the best record in the NFC. Next week, they’ll host the Bears for the Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field.
