EAST LANSING, Mich. – A Michigan football player who transferred to the team from Michigan State wore a U of M cap to his MSU graduation.
Safety Jaden Mangham spent two years in East Lansing after committing to the Spartans as a four-star prospect out of high school.
Mangham appeared in nine games as a true freshman in 2022 and started 10 games for Michigan State in 2023, earning All-Big Ten honorable mention.
He entered the transfer portal last offseason, as Michigan State made a coaching change with the hiring of Jonathan Smith. He ultimately committed to in-state rival Michigan.
Mangham appeared in just one game -- the opener against Fresno State. There are questions about whether he was healthy the remainder of the year. But that didn’t stop him from planting his flag over the weekend in enemy territory.
Mangham earned his degree from Michigan State University and decorated the top of his graduation cap with Maize and Blue. His last name was spelled out above his jersey number (3), the Big Ten logo, and the Jumpman logo.

As if the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry needed an extra spark, this could certainly add some fuel to the fire when the two teams meet at Spartan Stadium on Oct. 25. Especially if Mangham is out there.
