DETROIT – The Detroit Lions are getting a major part of their defense back for a pivotal game on Sunday night.
Linebacker Alex Anzalone is expected to return to the field Sunday vs. the Vikings, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, also reporting he could be on a snap count.

Anzalone broke his forearm during Detroit’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 17. He had 56 tackles, 40 solo tackles, and one sack in the team’s first nine games.
Anzalone talked about weighing his decision to return or not earlier this week.
“The thought process, kind of? You just think about, for me personally, obviously the doctors and the trainers, they kind of go through what the risks are of waiting a week, waiting two weeks, going through practice, maybe letting it spin next week or the week after that or this week,” he said.
“I think that for me, personally, it’s, like, OK say if something did happen, would I be OK not playing in the Super Bowl? So I think that that’s kind of the decision I have to make in my own head, and, ‘Is it worth it? How do I feel going over these next few practices? And go from there.’
Assuming the report is right, Anzalone will be ready to go for the primetime matchup on Sunday Night Football.
