The Vikings are trying to play the game against Detroit, reportedly purchasing 1,900 tickets from secondary markets to sell at face value to season ticket holders, hoping to fill Ford Field with more purple than blue.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Vikings spent $2 million on the tickets, in addition to the 600 tickets teams get for standard NFL road games. The Lions reportedly made a call to the league about this, but were told it’s all fair game.
Some fans have bought the tickets at face value and then resold them at secondary market prices to turn a profit.
