Lions playoff scenarios: Who will they play if they lose to Vikings?

The Detroit Lions will walk out of their game with the Vikings with either the No. 1 seed in the NFC -- or the No. 5 seed.

If they win, they clinch the No. 1 seed and a bye week, and will await their next opponent in the second round. If they lose, with the No. 5 seed, the Lions will have to hit the road for the wild card round next weekend.

If that happens, they’ll be seeing a familiar face -- again -- Matthew Stafford. Yep. The Lions will have to travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams in the No. 4 seed, winners of the NFC West division.

It’ll be the fourth rematch with Stafford since he was traded for Jared Goff, and the second playoff game matchup. The two teams met in last year’s wild card round, with the Lions emerging victorious.

The Rams finished the season 10-7, and sat most of their starters -- including Stafford -- in their Week 18 game vs. Seattle, which they lost.
