ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan basketball earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play No. 12 seed UC San Diego in the first round.

The Wolverines finished the regular season 25-9 and won the Big Ten Tournament championship over Wisconsin.

If Michigan beats UC San Diego on Thursday, it will play the winner of No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 13 Yale.

A matchup with Yale would have a bit of extra intrigue, as Michigan star Danny Wolf transferred from Yale this offseason.
