Bears draft Michigan State OL Luke Newman in 6th round

Michigan State offensive lineman Luke Newman was drafted by the Chicago Bears on Saturday, in the 6th round of the NFL Draft.

Newman joins the Bears after starting all 12 games at left guard for Michigan State in 2024, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference recognition.

Newman spent his first four collegiate seasons at Holy Cross (2020-23), starting 37-straight games at left tackle from 2021-23, earning First-Team FCS All-America honors each of his final two seasons, as well as First-Team All-Patriot League all three years of action.

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Newman prepped at Brother Rice High School, earning all-league honors at left tackle and defensive tackle.
