DETROIT – Jim Caldwell, the winningest Detroit Lions head coach in the Super Bowl era, is now firmly on the hot seat.

Caldwell, who has lead the Lions to the playoffs two of the last three years, is facing heat from Lions fans after a sloppy loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions are now 6-6 after two straight losses to probable playoff teams. The Lions now find themselves with a steep uphill climb to a playoff berth.

It's not impossible, but it's improbable. The Lions are now four games behind the Vikings in the NFC North and two games out of a wild card spot.

The battering in Baltimore on Sunday was an ugly showing for a Lions team with playoff hopes.

Joe Flacco threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, and the Baltimore Ravens survived a strong comeback bid by Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions in a 44-20 victory Sunday.

Flacco helped Baltimore take a 20-0 halftime lead and directed three scoring drives in the fourth quarter to keep the Ravens in front.

The loss had Lions fans taking to social media - and they were all ready to blame one person: head coach Jim Caldwell.

Caldwell signed a contract extension last year, but that doesn't mean he's untouchable.

“I just gotta do a better job coaching. Not good enough," Caldwell told the media after the loss to the Ravens on Sunday. It's something Lions fans are tired of hearing.

Fans were especially heating after the Lions appeared to only have nine players on the field while the Ravens sprinted into the red zone, eventually scoring in the fourth quarter.

So, what do you think? Should the Lions fire head coach Jim Caldwell?
