That's a nice nod to late team owner Mike Ilitch who died Feb. 10 at age 87. Ilitch and his family brought the team out of the "Dead Wings" era and turned it into a "Hockeytown" winning machine.
To cap off the comic, the confused Red Wings fan is greeted by a Colorado Avalanche fan. Both teams used to be the envy of the league just 20 years ago when they annually competed for the Stanley Cup. How the mighty have fallen.
