What a response!
More than 350 people nominated 43 marching bands in our search for Metro Detroit's best marching band. Thank you to all of the nominators and congratulations to all of the nominated bands. Now, it's on to Round 1 of voting.

Here's how this works:
Round 1 voting includes every nominated marching band. It starts today and runs until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 20. The Top 10 bands will advance to the second round. Vote using the poll below. It will also be posted at: www.clickondetroit.com/4frenzy
Round 2 voting begins Sept. 21. All votes reset to zero and we'll run the poll until Oct. 3. The top vote-getter will win the title of 2016 Friday Football Frenzy Best Marching Band.
Before we launch into the voting, we want to remind everyone this is friendly competition designed to celebrate the hardwork and dedication marching bands put into their shows. One person who nominated their band noted their kids spend hours every day practicing to put on just four shows this fall. It's remarkable work, and we're excited to share it with our audience.
And while we're going to narrow the field and ultimately choose one band, we'd love to hear from everyone throughout the fall. Send us photos, video and reports from performances. We're truly moved by many of the nominations -- "family" came up often in describing bands -- and would love to continue hearing from bands.
