It has been more than 20 years since the University of Michigan's Mike Legg scored that now-infamous lacrosse-style goal from behind the net.

Enter Mason Raymond, a struggling now-former NHL player who is trying to secure a spot on Team Canada for the Olympic games. Raymond, 31, was known as a speedy winger who could put the puck in the net during his time with the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs. However, he never scored one quite like this.
Raymond scored this crowd-pleaser during a Sochi Hockey Open tournament game this week. He tossed the puck right over Metallurg Magnitogorsk goalie Vasily Koshechkin's shoulder.
Raymond most recently played with the Anaheim Ducks until they re-assigned him to the AHL. His contract was terminated in November 2016 and he eventually signed with SC Bern of the National League A.
