DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings are a long shot for the Stanley Cup this season.

According to sports betting odds site Bodog, the Red Wings have a 100/1 chance of winning the 2017-18 championship. The Red Wings, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, Las Vegas Golden Knights, New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks all share the league-worst 100/1 chance at winning.

For the Red Wings it's quite a decrease from last year at this time when Bodog gave them a 25/1 shot at winning the Cup.

So, at least there's that new arena? The Red Wings have a 100 percent chance of playing at a shiny new home venue.

Meanwhile, Bodog has given back-to-back reigning champs the Pittsburgh Penguins the best odds at winning the Stanley Cup this season -- 7/1. The Penguins are followed by the Edmonton Oilers (9/1), and the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars (both 12/1).

Here are the odds for each team from Bodog:

  • Pittsburgh Penguins -- 7/1
  • Edmonton Oilers -- 9/1
  • Chicago Blackhawks -- 12/1
  • Dallas Stars -- 12/1
