DETROIT – A longtime WDIV news reporter is set to become a new co-host of the station’s lifestyle show, Live in the D.
Kim DeGiulio has spent nearly 10 years with the Local 4 morning news team, starting as a traffic reporter and growing into a role of reporting and filling in at the anchor desk.
Kim’s drive and work ethic led to her becoming the anchor of the 4:30 a.m. newscast.
“Each step was both a challenge and a joy, and I learned so much from the amazing team around me,” Kim said. “As I transitioned from traffic to reporter to anchor, I found a real passion for feel-good stories -- celebrating community gatherings, sharing pet adoption successes, spotlighting local businesses, and capturing Detroit’s amazing renaissance. All of that fits so well with what Live in the D is all about.”
Now Kim will make her debut on the award-winning 11 a.m. lifestyle program in June as a permanent host alongside Tati Amare. WDIV Vice President and General Manager Bob Ellis made the announcement on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
“Kim’s versatility as a storyteller makes her the perfect co-host for Live in The D as we embark on a new era for the show,” Ellis said. “From her days reporting traffic to her anchoring and reporting on our morning newscast, she’s demonstrated a knack for relating to our audience and helping share information through their eyes. Viewers will now get to see a side of her I’m certain they’re going to absolutely love.”
Live in the D has been on the air since August 2013 and is about to enter its 13th season. Tati will also celebrate her 10-year anniversary with the show this year.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Kim to the Live in the D team,” Tati said. “Her talent, energy, and fresh perspective will be an exciting addition to the show. We’ve worked together in the past with amazing synergy, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll create this time around. I’m looking forward to this new beginning and the collaboration ahead.”
“Getting to work with Tati every day is such an honor,” Kim said. “She’s someone I’ve always admired, not just as a journalist and host, but as a person. Her energy, professionalism, and authenticity are unmatched, and I hope to bring that same spirit to the show.”
Kim grew up in Dearborn and graduated from Dearborn High School before earning her undergrad degree from The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
She currently lives in Detroit and is a self-proclaimed Detroit “foodie.”
Kim and her husband, Kevin, have a son, Blake, who is almost 2 years old. They’re expecting their second child in July.
The addition of DeGiulio to the Live In The D team is just one exciting change happening for the show this year, but there is plenty more to expect by the end of 2025. Big plans are in the foreground that will come to fruition later this year, and both Tati and Kim are excited to share what’s to come.
