Nearly a century ago, the JLD hosted its very first fashion show at the J.L. Hudson’s building.

“This event is more than a celebration -- it’s a tribute to Detroit’s resilience and creativity,” JLD President Mary Hollens said. “We’re proud to continue our legacy of giving back through this glamorous and meaningful evening that also celebrates our legacy.”

A sophisticated, high-end runway fashion show curated by the Somerset Collection will be in the spotlight.

Detroit’s rich history will also be a theme, honoring businesses and organization that have served the city for 100+ years.

The primary charity recipient of the event is Brilliant Detroit, a nonprofit addressing early childhood development and kindergarten readiness.

The event will also support the JLD’s longstanding initiatives, such as college scholarships for high schoolers, grants to local nonprofits, and advocacy around food insecurity, literacy, and community engagement.
