DETROIT – WDIV-TV Local 4 News finished #1 at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. in the May 2012 Nielsen ratings period in the Detroit television market.
Local 4 News at 5 p.m. is #1 in the time period with a 5.5 household rating and a 13 share, beating both WXYZ (5.0 HH RTG/12 SHR) and WJBK (5.2 HH RTG/12 SHR). Local 4 News at 6 p.m. is #1 in household ratings in the 6-6:30 p.m. time period garnering a 7.1 household rating and a 16 share (compared to WXYZ 5.6 RTG, 12 SHR and WJBK 4.5 RTG, 10 SHR). Local 4 News at 11 p.m., anchored by Carmen Harlan, Devin Scillian, Chuck Gaidica and Bernie Smilovitz, is #1 M-Sun with an 8.2 household rating and a 15 share (compared to WXYZ 7.5 RTG, 14 SHR, WJBK 10pm (M-F) 8.9 RTG, 14 SHR, and WJBK 11pm 5.6 RTG, 10 SHR).
In other dayparts of the WDIV programming lineup, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is #1 the 10-11 a.m. time period (3.7 HH RTG, 13 SHR), Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy are #1 in the all important access time period of 7-8 p.m. averaging a 8.3 rating with a 16 share in household ratings (compared to WXYZ 5.9 RTG, 12 SHR and WJBK 3.2 RTG, 6 SHR), and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is #1 in the 11:35 p.m. time period with a 4.5 household rating and a 10 share.
