Keith Garvin is a Murrow, Emmy, & AP award-winning anchor for KPRC 2. Raised in Bryan-College Station, he joined the station in August 2012.
During his time at KPRC 2, he has covered a number of major stories including the Summer Olympics from Tokyo, Brazil and Paris, two presidential inaugurations, the Pope's visits to the U.S. & Mexico, and four World Series with the Houston Astros.
Previously, as a correspondent for ABC News, Keith covered the war in Iraq--and traveled frequently with the White House. He has also covered several hurricanes and has reported from Afghanistan & Rwanda.
Keith is a board member for the Houston Area Urban League, a member of the Houston Association of Black Journalists, and a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He and his wife Lisa have 4 daughters and are members of Second Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. Keith is a graduate of the Don Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada which he attended on a football scholarship. He also holds a master's degree in cultural apologetics from Houston Theological Seminary at Houston Christian University.
In his (rare) spare time, he loves to read, travel and collect swords. He is also a huge fan of BBQ brisket...lean of course!
