Metro Detroit’s weather is seasonable and mostly calm, but conditions are drastically different in Florida and other parts of the Southeast. On Thursday evening, Hurricane Helene became a Category 4 in the Gulf of Mexico.

This is the warmest day of the week under mostly sunny skies with daytime highs in the mid to upper 70s.

As this storm works up through the southeastern United States and into the Ohio and Mississippi Valley, we will see an increase in cloud cover through the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend.
