A sharp, strong and wet cold front will slowly inch its way across the state this weekend. The low pressure center at the northern end of that front should stay a bit further north than earlier data suggested. So snow chances look lower for northern Michigan. After so much time above normal, the majority of our 10-day forecast will be below seasonal average temperatures.

But there will be some North Zone spots that briefly touch the upper 30s. West Michigan will not, though. Highs will reach the mid-60s to 70 degrees, and those numbers will come with mostly sunny skies. Rain will finally return Saturday morning before leaving us mostly dry for the remainder of the weekend.

Thursday will be another cool night, with most of our daytime clouds taking off. Metro Zone lows will end up in the mid-50s, but 40s might show up again in the West and North zones. Friday will bring our only remaining shot of rain this week, but it will only be light, scattered showers, primarily from midday to the early evening. Temperatures will rise again next week, with highs returning to the 80s.
