Highs should approach freezing (32 degrees…0 degrees Celsius), with a northwest wind becoming northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Cloudy on Wednesday, with some flurries or light snow developing midday. The snow should easily end well before dawn Thursday, with lows in the mid 20s (-3 degrees Celsius). Mostly cloudy Thursday night, with lows in the mid 20s (-5 to -4 degrees Celsius).

We will see highs in the low 70s, and the record high in Detroit today is 75° F. So, it’s within reach, and we did set two record high temperatures both weekend days. There will be a little bit of sun filtered through those clouds and highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. But after the morning showers, we should see some midday and/or afternoon sunshine. Read full article: Metro Detroit weather: Windy, cool startDETROIT – We are waking up to more rain pouring in from the southwest and Metro Detroit temps in the 40s, falling into the upper 30s briefly. The showers will be mainly south of 10 Mile, but not exclusively, and it looks wet through the morning commute. We will be heading into the 60s, and may flirt with the 70s around Metro Detroit later in the week. After morning showers Wednesday, we should see partly to even mostly sunny skies and highs into the low and middle 60s. It’s a little early to tell, but looking almost two weeks out at Halloween... models show much cooler air and some wet weather for the big holiday ahead.

Light snow will likely produce a coating in the Thumb this evening while the rest of us see lighter drizzle closer to Downtown Detroit. A few lake effect snow bands will likely move through parts of Metro Detroit in the afternoon and evening, so we need to watch out for snow squalls. Moderate to heavy snow starts the weekend as we wake up to several inches on the ground. Saturday afternoon rain will likely turn back to snow late Saturday and early Sunday with another inch or so possible.

Halloween forecastWe’re still in the thick of the rain on Halloween, Thursday but the most recent data we’re tracking gives some hope to somewhat dry conditions tomorrow morning. Friday forecastCold breezes will howl overnight into Friday morning and any the rain and snow will be gone by sunrise Friday. The winds will drag moisture from Lake Michigan and bring a few afternoon snow showers Saturday with highs only in the lower or mid 40s. It will be dry, but chilly on Sunday with partly sunny skies after sub-freezing lows warming into those low to mid 40s once again.
