WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith has charged Zachariah Thorton in connection with attacking a Shelby Township man at a Chase Bank drive through ATM in Washington Township on Nov. 16.
Thorton has been charged with assault with intent to rob while armed, a felony with a sentence of up to life in prison, for attacking the Shelby Township resident.
Original Story: Person stabbed by masked attacker while trying to use Washington Township ATMPolice and prosecutors allege that the suspect, wearing all black, including a face-covering and gloves, approached the victim from behind as he was using the ATM.
Thorton demanded money from the victim, and the victim tried pushing him away.
“I commend the due diligent efforts of the Sheriff’s Deputies in apprehending and removing this dangerous criminal from the streets.
