Former Michigan State football star and Detroit Lions first-round pick Charles Rogers has died. Rogers, 38, was a Saginaw native who broke several receiving records while playing football at Michigan State University between 2001 and 2002. A century ago, Nov. 11 was known as Armistice Day. That changed in 1952 to become Veterans Day, which has become a touchstone for everyone to remember the sacrifices made by men and women who serve the country.

Benzie County Sheriff Ted Schendel said the shots fired came from inside the house. Anyone who has seen or heard from Quintal is asked to contact the Benzie County Central Dispatch at 231-882-4487 or the Michigan State Police Silent Observer at 1-866-774-2345.

Police are continuing to search for Adrienne Quintal, a resident of Warren reported missing in mid-October. That family friend, police said, called 911 shortly after her call and told police Quintal was involved in a shoot-out with two men. The friend told police Quintal said she had shot one of the men in the face and provided an address for the friend to give to police. Authorities said sheriffs deputies searched the area at about 3:15 a.m. and found multiple bullet holes in a window of the cabin. Using K-9 units and thermal imaging cameras, police searched the area and inside the cabin but were unable to find anyone.
