Ann Arbor police are investigating after a victim was punched and threatened with what they believed was a gun during a traffic dispute at a flashing yellow light.

The Ann Arbor Police Department said no one was injured, and alcohol was not suspected.

One woman is in critical condition and seven people are injured after a 4-vehicle crash on Ann Arbor’s South State Street near I-94.

“Gun violence at any level is unacceptable in our community. We are very fortunate that this incident didn’t result in serious injuries. The department is actively putting resources together to address what happened,” said Ann Arbor Chief of Police Andre Anderson.

“This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at this time,” the Ann Arbor Police Department said on social.

“Our traffic officers have been getting an uptick in school bus violation complaints in recent weeks,” police wrote on social media.

Registration is now open for Ann Arbor's Blaze & Blue, a free four-day program for girls ages 15-18 in June.

Initial findings have led police to believe it was an isolated incident and not done at random, officials said on social media.
