The organization says the data it collects “will be utilized to develop and empower the next generation of women music creators." The Grammys have been criticized over the years for awarding and nominating more men than women.

The Census Bureau says college students should be counted where they would have been on April 1 at school if not for the outbreak. College students overwhelm the demography of places with large universities, Poston said.
