Furniture and mattress store Gardner White is moving into the iconic former Art Van store, warehouse and corporate office at 14 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Warren.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – Loves Furniture swooped in when Art Van went bankrupt, but now it seems the trouble might be following Loves Furniture. The company is already announcing store closures and customers are reporting experiencing lengthy delivery delays. DETROIT – All Art Van employees were laid off Friday after the coronavirus forced the company to close its stores, ending sales. A company spokesperson said Art Van couldn’t afford to keep employees after sales were ended. Art Van officials said they hoped those arrangements would allow customers to complete pending pick-ups while protecting employees and residents. Police ordered the store on 14 Mile Road to close at 4 p.m., Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said. Cvetkovski said she’s not only worried about her business, but also about the Art Van drivers as they look for new employment.
