The Fall in Love with Wayne County Photo Campaign is returning ahead of the holiday season.

The weather will be ideal for hanging out at the Romeo Peach Festival, Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats in Royal Oak, the Detroit Jazz Festival in Hart Plaza and Cadillac Square, parades, and any other events.

We’re a couple months into a very different school year because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Some students are learning online, some are back in the classroom and others are doing a hybrid of both. With the number of new coronavirus cases on a dramatic rise, families that committed to virtual school are glad they did. The parents Local 4 spoke with whose kids are in virtual school are happy with how its going. For teachers, there is some frustration in the limitations of online learning.

Saturday evening will be warm with scattered showers. Clouds and scattered showers return, Monday. It will be milder with afternoon temperatures in the low 70s. Temperatures will continue to rise on Saturday, despite a small rain chance for parts of the area. Above normal temperatures continue through the middle of next week before a reality check arrives. An evening cold front will cool us down Sunday, bringing highs back to the upper 60s. Rain Chances IncreaseOur only rain shot over the weekend will be from that Saturday evening cold front. Highs will get back to near normal again but I don’t see any 70s through the end of next weekend.

DETROIT – Fog has gone, but summer-like weather has not Saturday. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine because wet weather and much cooler weather is on the way. But don’t expect a fall feel going forward. There’s still plenty of above normal temperatures that lie ahead. High pressure is ‘stuck’ between us and Hurricane Teddy. Along with Teddy in the Atlantic, those are the only two organized systems we’re looking at right now. But there’s quite a bit of hurricane season left, which runs through November 30.

That time of year has officially come: Tomorrow is the first day of fall! We have all been feeling it for a while, with the cooler weather we have been experiencing as of late, including our friends of the show. Comedian Melanie Hearn, Jason Hall of RiDetroit, and Lauren Crocker of The Blaine Fowler Morning Show on 96.3 WDVD, joined Jason Carr to break down the upcoming season and take their stance on the ultimate fall debates: Should the season be called fall or autumn? It still feels like summer as we sit down to dinner in Detroit and Southeast Michigan. A cold front will be weak enough to bring us scattered light showers tonight, but strong enough to make it feel like fall tomorrow. Wednesday evening will be warm under a hazy sunset. But even these comfortable temperatures will be below normal for the next 10 days. Skies will be partly cloudy tonight as lows dip to the 50s area wide. Highs Tuesday are on their way to the mid 70s with a modest westerly breeze. We may see a round of showers in the morning, then another in the afternoon or evening as a cold front pushes through. Temperatures will rebound to the mid 70s for the weekend.
