However, those in top roles often times do not look like the players they lead. In Detroit, both the Lions and Pistons have Black men in prominent, leadership roles. There were seven open general manager positions in the NFL this year. Only two of them went to Black me, which doubled the number of minority general managers in the league.

The virtual exhibit will highlight over 150 cultural objects that tell the story of hip-hop’s influence on culture, film, music, and more. The Marshall M. Fredrick Museum believes that museum professionals need to take the lead in the community to expose people to all cultures. The museum is the first of its kind to feature historical memorabilia from the world of hip-hop. The museum also has a virtual film speaker series.

Jordan is a former educator and, through his years of teaching, he realized his students did not know much about Detroit’s history, specifically its important Black History. So he set up Black Scroll Network with that mission, to teach everyone about our city’s Black History.
