The letter was sent to General Daniel R. Hokanson, Chief of the National Guard Bureau. In the letter, the Michigan Delegation wrote, “We understand that the decision was made to provide contracted meals to support the entire federal response stationed at the Capitol. However, it is clear that these contracted meals are poorly prepared, oftentimes inedible, and highly inadequate to support our soldiers. It is completely unacceptable that our men and women serving in Washington D.C. are being hospitalized due to the food they are being provided.

Senate Bill 956 is nothing more than a political game that would relocate vulnerable seniors without any requirement for consent, doctors approval, or notification to patients and their families. Last week, Whitmer extended protections by continuing limited and temporary restrictions on the entry of individuals into health care facilities, residential care facilities, congregate care facilities, and juvenile justice facilities.

Health officials claim more about one-third of Michigans COVID-19 deaths came in nursing homes.

One lawsuit was filed by Michigan citizens claiming that the eligibility criteria to serve as a commissioner is unconstitutional. The plaintiffs appealed the cases after a district court initially denied the motions. The Sixth Circuit Court upheld the district courts decision in April, and again denied to rehear the cases Friday. The goal of Michigans Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission is to level the playing field through bipartisan redistricting.
