An Oakland County bridal shop owner is facing multiple fraud-related charges after the business abruptly closed in June, leaving brides without dresses for upcoming weddings.

Birmingham police said 12 cars were stolen from residents over the span of nine days, and 7-10 of them had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

A man who got blackout drunk at a nearby restaurant passed out in a Birmingham woman’s garage, woke up wearing only a shirt, drove her car back to his home, filled it up with gas and returned it, along with a note, police said.

A Farmington Hills man lost control of his car, fishtailed, struck a curb, went into the median and drove on a flat tire while trying to flee police in a car he had just purchased and didn’t yet know how to drive, authorities said.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The Birmingham Police Department said it is conducting an investigation after receiving reports of women being drugged at a Birmingham bar. After dinner, they wanted to go to the Rose Room, which is only open a few days a week. Their drinks came and about an hour into the evening, they started feeling strange. Another woman filed a report of suspicious activity with police over her experience at the bar but did not say she felt she was drugged. The Rose Room released a statement Wednesday:

Police said six reports have been filed and they are asking the community to share any information they may have on the matter. “The Birmingham Police Department takes these allegations very seriously and at no time did we receive reports regarding this and indicate nothing could be done,” said Police Chief Mark H. Clemence. The bar said in the post that it had “no indication that the claims being repeated through social media are true.”AdPolice said anyone who feels they have been a victim of a crime is asked to come forward. “The more information we have regarding these allegations will help us to bring the potential perpetrator to justice,” Clemence said.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – A driver called police and reported that she struck a pedestrian in Birmingham on Tuesday at 3:30 a.m., police said. She told police she drove through the intersection of Maple Road and Coolidge Highway on a green light when she struck a pedestrian. A 30-year-old man from Birmingham was killed, according to police. The South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Birmingham police are investigating an armed robbery that happened shortly after 4 a.m. Monday. According to police, three men armed with guns robbed the clerk of the Speedway gas station at 34750 Woodward Avenue in Birmingham. The three entered the station announcing it was a robbery and took money from the clerk’s cash register. Police searched the area, but were not able to locate the trio described by the clerk as Black men. Anyone with information is asked to call Birmingham police at 248-530-1770.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - A Clinton Township man and a Sterling Heights woman were found naked inside a running, fogged-up vehicle parked at the Birmingham Police Department, officials said. A Birmingham police officer pulled into the parking lot at 200 Martin Street at 12:17 a.m. Aug. 1. He saw a vehicle running and parked in a spot marked for "municipal vehicles only," according to authorities. The officer said he noticed the windows were fogged up as he approached the vehicle. He found a naked 24-year-old Clinton Township man and 25-year-old Sterling Heights woman in the vehicle, police said.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The Birmingham Police Department is investigating after the wheels were stolen from two sport utility vehicles near the Shain Park area. Jason Snooks' wife discovered the theft Sunday morning. Snooks had wheel locks on his SUV and whoever took his wheels left the locks behind. Snooks said he was given an estimate that it would cost about $3,000 to replace the wheels on his SUV. "I wish they hadn't done it, and it's really disappointing you have to steal from other people," he said.
