A boutique in Milford is mixing up the shopping experience.

The owners of Collected Works in the Kerrytown neighborhood will close their shop after the upcoming holiday season.

There is a local Detroit company looking to take things to the next level and it is all thanks to a scholarship from the Stahl Family Small Business Fund Scholarship Program.

Bivouac will be holding a daylong raffle on Oct. 9 to celebrate 50 years in business.

Roeda Studio will be closing its downtown location at the end of the year.

When you first walk in All About Grace, you will be floored by just how many items they really have. The Trenton handmade boutique hosts 97 different artists’ work and it covers everything from beautiful clay jewelry, to industrial-looking lights.

ANN ARBOR – For many small businesses, the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic was a recipe for disaster. After three months, Real Irish opened its doors again in June to customers. Woolen sweaters, caps and jackets are just some of the specialty items sold at Real Irish. The last two months of the year were a major success for Real Irish, with customers seeking out authentic Irish gifts for family members and friends for the holidays.

Throughout the pandemic, All About Grace has donated over 500 masks from vendors that participate. Ashley Young, OwnerAll About Grace opened in November of 2019, right before the pandemic. We also had a lot of custom and personalization orders that kept us going throughout the pandemic” says Young. TAYLOR, Mich. – The shutdown caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been tough on people who have been unable to work and tough on business owners. Julia Karapetian was temporarily laid off from her job in the cage at MGM Casino. She took all the money she saved and put it toward her dream that had been growing the last seven years. Her boutique is on Telegraph in Taylor and she said it is a much better way to showcase her unique styles than her occasional pop-up shops. Karapetian said she made more in her first week than she ever did at MGM.

Many restaurants and hotels have changed up the way they do things to adjust to the current times. Webers Restaurant and Boutique Hotel in Ann Arbor is a perfect example. The restaurant and hotel is family-owned and has been serving the community for generations. Some of the changes Webers has made was offering grocery services when the restaurant was shut down.
