Cindric makes his Cup Series debut Sunday in the Daytona 500. โWhat a way to start the season,โ Cindric said. Cindric won the Xfinity Series debut on Daytonaโs road course last August as well as a rallycross event early in his career. The 22-year-old has this final season in Xfinity before moving next year to Cup to drive for Penske-supported Wood Brothers Racing.

Sheldon Creed beat Sam Mayer on a restart with 13 laps to go Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway to win his third Truck Series race of the season and a $100,000 bonus. Creed's victory pushed his bonus earnings to $150,000 this year in the Triple Truck Challenge. At the track outside of St. Louis, Creed battled with Todd Gilliland, who led a race-high 76 of the 160 laps. Moffitt tried to get around teammate Creed in the final restart but couldnt get his truck in position for the pass. The truck series next races Sunday at Darlington Raceway.

Brett Moffitt won the trucks race at Homestead in 2018 but didnt even get through 20 laps Saturday night, after he was part of a crash that also ended Zane Smiths race early. Elliott pitted, got four new tires to replace those ruined in the skid, and was part of the race within the race the battle for second behind Busch at the end. Ray Ciccarelli was in the race after a week where he made plenty of news for perhaps less-than-ideal reasons.
