Asian shares have slipped as rising yields in the bond market on Wall Street set off expectations that high interest rates would continue in the U.S. Benchmarks fell in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul, while rising slightly in Sydney.

The government says airfares are dropping, but Delta officials say they're not seeing the same thing.

(CNN) - Stocks rose just after the opening bell Tuesday, erasing an early deficit after the U.S. government reported a bigger uptick in a key measure of consumer prices than expected. The Dow was up more than 100 points in early trading following Monday's nearly 400-point drop. The return of market volatility in recent weeks is unnerving investors, especially those looking to save for retirement. That's especially the case since stocks have been the only game in town for conservative investors. Yields in the UK are near zero as well while long-term rates in Japan and much of Europe are now in negative territory.

David Begnaud, a CBS News correspondent who has spent months in Puerto Rico, tweeted that CPI "has done great work exposing alleged corruption." CPI is essentially the ProPublica of Puerto Rico -- calling to mind the New York-based nonprofit that produces investigative journalism. The deadly category 5 hurricane struck Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands in September 2017. Mark-Viverito told CNN Business that CPI's role in Puerto Rico, particularly after Maria, "has been an invaluable contribution." In the wake of the hurricane, Mark-Viverito has been talking "about the importance of contributing" to the organization.
