A Hamtramck man is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a gas station on Detroit’s east side.

ALPENA, Mich. – An Alpena man has been arrested and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Michigan State Police were called to investigate a report of sexual abuse of a minor on Saturday. The abuse was reported to have began in 2018, police said. Police said the victim of the abuse reported it to her mother, who then contacted Child Protective Services. He was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Canton Township man is facing the possibility of life in prison after he was charged with 18 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Shailesh Patel, 53, of Canton Township, was formally charged Thursday at 35th District Court, officials said. First-degree criminal sexual conduct is a felony punishable by up to life in prison. Police didn’t release details about the alleged crimes, but said an investigate began after one victim filed a report of the abuse. Canton Police Department investigators worked with the FBI’s SEMTEC task force on the case, officials said.

DEARBORN, Mich. – A 20-year-old Dearborn man has been charged with seven counts of criminal sexual conduct after sexually assaulting several teenage girls, according to the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office. Quentin Bogya was arraigned on Oct. 16 on two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree, four counts of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree and one count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. Bogya is accused of giving several girls alcohol before sexually assaulting them, officials said. Bogya is being held in the Livingston County Jail. He is scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 18 for a preliminary hearing.

WEST BRANCH, Mich. – Officials announced the arrest of Samuel David Neva, 24 of West Branch, for possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime. Police said the investigation was launched after “it was learned” that Neva was viewing child sexually abusive materials on the internet. Neva was charged with six counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, five counts of distributing child sexually abusive material, and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. YPSILANTI, Mich. – A Washtenaw County deputy has been charged with criminal sex conduct toward multiple women during his time as a student at Eastern Michigan University (EMU). Deangelo McWilliams, 24, is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting three separate women beginning when he was 20 years old. The man is accused of sexually assaulting two of the women on separate occasions at a fraternity house. Durbin was charged on Friday with nine counts of criminal sexual conduct stemming from the sexual assault of seven separate women, officials said. Officials say sexual assault complaints regarding Durbin date back to 2014, but were not investigated by EMU.
