According to a release, the construction has started and the goal is to revitalize the East Warren and Cadieux Neighborhood

DETROIT – A Detroit police SUV was hit by a suspected drunk driver overnight in the area of Cadieux Road and Marne Street on the city’s east side. Officers were on the scene of a crash when a second car hit the police SUV. The officers were inside the SUV, though they were not injured. The suspected drunk driver was taken into custody.

DETROIT Police say a 51-year-old man was fatally shot Friday shortly after 9 a.m. inside a home in the 5500 block of Cadieux in Detroit. As of today police are uncertain about the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have no description of a possible suspect. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

DETROIT - Blue Cross Blue Shield has committed $5 million to help revitalize a neighborhood on Detroit's east side. The work in the East Warren and Cadieux communities is expected to start now. Residents of the area said it's worth investing in and that the area is nice. BCBS is one of seven companies that have committed $5 million to the revitalization of Detroit communities over the next five years. The others are American Axle and Manufacturing, Chemical Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Flagstar Bank, Huntington Bank and the Penskey Group.

DETROIT - One person has died in a nursing home fire on Detroit's east side. Parts of the building were evacuated due to the fire and investigation at the St. Joseph Manor nursing home on Cadieux Road near Warren Avenue.
