ANN ARBOR – In a Board of Education meeting that lasted nearly six hours on Wednesday, the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board approved a resolution to modify its plan to return to in-person learning in favor of finishing the school year virtually. The Board voted 5-2 in favor of the motion. Trustee Kelly questioned the legality of the motion and urged the vote be postponed by a week. During next Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting, the Board will vote on Superintendent Swift’s recommendation to continue in-person learning through the end of the school year for the majority of students.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, it happened just before 12:30 p.m. at a Sally Beauty Supply store in the 320 block of Telegraph Road, just north of Cherry Hill Street. Oakland County deputies located the suspect at the Big Lots store where they said he admitted to exposing himself and was taken into custody. A computer check revealed that the suspect was a missing and endangered person out of Southfield. The man is currently housed at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.

The company said it will have two headquarters, one in Detroit and one in Columbus, Ohio. The Detroit headquarters will employee at least 800 people, about three times more than TCF had planned. Columbus will remain the headquarters for the holding company and the consumer bank. With the removal of the TCF branding, the TCF Center -- recently renamed in late 2019 -- will be renamed the Huntington Center.

Michigan State Police officers are now assisting in the search for a missing 14-year-old girl who left home with an unknown person early Saturday morning. Police say 14-year-old Reem Alsaidi willingly left home around 5:15 a.m. and was seen entering a white or gray sedan that pulled up in front of her home. It is unknown what clothing she may be wearing but was last seen with a backpack. Pictures of the gray sedan can be seen below.
