Michigan Medicine has promised that changes will come to the Wayne County Morgue. The promise comes after a series of reports by the Local 4 Defenders.

About a week after a Local 4 Defenders investigation first exposed problems at the morgue, the medical examiner was brought in before a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services board.
The 59-year-old was found dead in Detroit and brought to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. Despite ID being on him, his family was not contacted until 17 months had passed.
