Haeger was being sought on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault in connection with Breed’s death in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Friday night before he fled, The Arizona Republic reported. His body was found at about 4 p.m. Saturday on a trail along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona, Scottsdale police said, according to KPNX. He most recently worked as a minor league coach with the Chicago Cubs' AA minor league team the Tennessee Smokies. Charles Haeger was hired by the Chicago Cubs organization as a minor league pitching coach in November 2019.

Police were seeking Haeger on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault in the fatal shooting Friday, Hoster said. Responding police found the victim dead in her bedroom, Hoster said.
