On Wednesday, PBS announced it reached a deal with Apple for an ad-free broadcast of both the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials in the coming weeks. “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will air on PBS and PBS Kids at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” will air on PBS and PBS Kids at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

Leonardo Urena spent the summer tending to the massive gourd, on a 1200 square-foot- plot of land. The diligence Urena spent over the last two decades trying to grow such a pumpkin have finally paid off. Urena took the top prize at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off. Organizers said it set a record grown for pumpkins grown in the state.
