Oakland University has declared a snow emergency and canceled all non-essential activities and classes on Wednesday (Feb. 2)

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In a historic decision Michigan State University ended in-classroom instruction and moved all classes to online. University officials also encouraged students who could go home to do so. This decision came after Michigan officials confirmed the first two cases of coronavirus in the state. University spokeswoman Emily Gerkin-Guerrant addressed how the university came to its decision. Some professors had already moved their classes online, others were prepared and some haven’t decided what they’ll do.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo has canceled classes Monday and Tuesday and will have online-only instruction through March 30 due to coronavirus concerns, school officials said. A state of emergency has been declared in Ohio, as three cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the state. All courses will resume Wednesday (March 18), with remote delivery, school officials said. Other school changes:The university remains open, including the residence halls, libraries, recreation centers and dining halls, officials said. Toledo has suspended all domestic and international travel for the rest of the fiscal year, which runs through June 30.
